Barbara Bates – Bates Designs

What do Michael Jordan, Oprah, Steve Harvey and Whitney Houston all have in common? They've all worn Barbara Bates. A native Chicagoan, Bates went from selling her designs during her lunch break to overseeing a huge design studio in the South Loop. Micaela Brown met up with her there to discuss how she broke out, beating cancer and her cringeworthy moments.
